About the Food
Lone Mountain Barbecue was started by Bay Area native Chris, who was born and raised in Marin County. In 2011, he moved to Arkansas while his now-wife was finishing nursing school, and it was there he developed a deep love for all things barbecue.
In 2021 Chris got his first serious offset smoker from TMG Pits and started to sell Central Texas inspired barbecue to the public. From the response he received, it was obvious this hobby was starting to look more like an opportunity to share with others something that he loves.
The name Lone Mountain Barbecue is an homage to Chris' mother and grandmother who both attended Lone Mountain College in San Francisco when it was an all-girls school many years ago.
